MOSES ASIIMWE, MBA/CPA

Moses Asiimwe is the Country Manager at Akagera Medicines, Africa Ltd. He oversees operations and strategic initiatives in Rwanda. Prior to joining Akagera Medicines, Moses served as the Head of Corporate Services at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in Kigali. He was one of the two non-diplomatic senior management team members, and led the organization's largest team. That team turned around financial and estate management performance, and won several global excellence awards. Moses played a crucial role in promoting investment, trade, and climate change initiatives. He worked closely with the private sector to achieve UK-Rwanda objectives.

Moses worked at the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) from 2017 to 2019 as a Financial Analyst and later as a Head of the Strategic Investment Department. He led a team of professionals that assessed and negotiated key strategic projects on behalf of the Government of Rwanda. Moses led a highly skilled team to prepare and assess business and financial models, and negotiated strategic projects with local and international investors. His team's portfolio, valued at over USD 3 billion, included key projects such as an $800 million airport and a $400 million gas extraction project. Moses led the collaboration with Michael Fairbanks during the early days of Akagera Medicines and was instrumental in the company's successful launch.

Moses holds a Master’s in International Business & Strategy from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, where he graduated with distinction, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Rwanda, College of Business and Economics. He graduated first in his class with first-class honors. He is also a Certified Public Accountant

An expert in enterprise management, strategy, financial management, and business analysis, Moses is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda and contributes to one of its commissions. His insights into Rwanda's development have been featured in publications, including "Unlocking Africa's Singapore: Rwanda." Moses also serves on several boards including Rwanda’s Ministry of Infrastructure.

Pascale Kunda

Engineering Scientist

Pascale has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Peace Engineering from the University of St. Thomas in the USA. She received both the School of Engineering Distinguished Service Award and the Tommie Award. She worked on research projects that included 3D printing and thermoforming clear windows for COVID-19 masks; and designing class demonstrations to show minor loss through a PVC pipe. Pascale also worked with Engineering World Health to troubleshoot and repair up to 27 types of biomedical equipment in different hospitals in Rwanda.

Pascale also has substantial experience as a public speaker. She was one of her class' commencement speakers. She was featured on the “All My Life” podcast and has MC’d several events including the 2021 and 2022 Rwanda Girls Initiative. Pascale is interested in human-centered design and the impact of health on the development of a nation.

At Akagera Medicines, Pascale will contribute to the team’s effort to set up and run a therapeutic and vaccine manufacturing facility in Rwanda.
